== House Points ==
House points are a reward system, earned by students for their houses. They can be awarded for answering questions in classes, winning events, completing quests, getting a good grade on the [[Weekly Exam]], and very occasionally for good behaviour in-game (like reporting bugs).

You can also lose house points for poor behaviour in [[classes]], and submitting [[Classes#Homework|homework]] with a grade of "Dreadful" or "Troll"

Earning or losing house points results in an in-game announcement, as well as one in the house-points channel on our Discord.

To view house points, you can run the command /housepoints in-game.

You can view your house point statistics from your /[[profile]], by hovering over your head at the top, or by clicking into the dedicated "House Points" menu. From here, you can see the house point total, as well as your contribution for the month, and all time (points gained & lost). You can also see a log detailing your last 5 house point transactions.

== House Cup ==
At the end of every month, the house cup is awarded to the house with the most points. The points are then reset to zero, and the houses start competing for the next month!

Previously, the top students from each house used to be recognised in the house point announcement, and received their own "Top Student" [[tag]]. This hasn't happened for a while now, but may return some day.

Rewards for the winning house include:

* Champions tag, which can be worn for the following month.

To be pinged for these, run the command ?role student in bot-commands. Classes are held by Professors and Senior Professors. Junior Professors can host "trial classes", which are the same as normal classes but will have a senior member of staff observing to see if they meet the criteria to move up to Professor...."

Classes are held by our [[Professor]] team. There is no schedule, but classes are often announced in advance in the class-announcements channel on our Discord. To be pinged for these, run the command ?role student in bot-commands.

Each subject has its own professor, who will teach that class exclusively. Subjects without a dedicated professor can be taught by any other professor.

== Spell Points ==
Spell Points (SP) are the primary reward for attending classes. Each class will give out one SP to all students (provided they are well behaved), which can then be exchanged for Spells at the [[Spell Master]] NPC, who can be found at the Great Hall and in all the common rooms.

== Homework ==
At the end of most classes, homework will be given out. This is entirely optional, but can be completed for house points. If you've been given homework, you'll have a book in your inventory with instructions on the task as well as how to submit it.

Work done in classes and for homework is graded in line with the following scale:
